Switches live a hard life: dropped, sat on, chucked in bags. We repair Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite and Switch OLED consoles, plus Joy-Cons and Pro Controllers, at our shop in Cefn-y-bedd.

The Switch Lite has its controls built in, so stick drift on a Lite means repairing the console itself rather than swapping a Joy-Con. Let us know which model you have when you book.
Bring the charger (and a Joy-Con or controller if you have a spare) so we can test it properly.
The USB-C port takes a lot of wear from docking and undocking. Bent pins, debris or a damaged port stop it charging. Charging port repairs are from £70; if a charging chip or battery is the cause, we’ll explain before going ahead.
With it on the charger, hold the power button for about 12 seconds, then press it once to start it. If it’s still dead, it may be the battery, the charging circuit or the board. We test and quote. No-power repairs are from £75.
If it works in handheld but not docked, the dock, cable or the console’s USB-C port can be the cause. Bring the dock and power supply too.
The Joy-Con stick is small and wears quickly. Joy-Con drift repair is £20 a stick, or £25 with a Hall-effect upgrade.
Worn rails and connectors cause Joy-Cons to drop out. We check the rails and contacts.
Insert the Switch straight into the dock rather than at an angle, use a good-quality charger, keep it in a case in bags, and don’t leave it in a hot car. If a Joy-Con starts to drift, get it seen to before it gets worse.
Every console is different, so we look before we price. When you bring it in we note the fault you’ve described, test it with your cable and controller, and open it up if we need to. Then we tell you what’s wrong, what the repair involves and the price, and nothing is done until you say yes. Where we publish a fixed price, that’s the price. Where it says “from”, the final price is confirmed after we’ve had a look, before any work starts. If a repair isn’t worth doing, we’ll tell you straight.
If we fit a standard part, like an HDMI port, a fan, a drive or a stick, and the same fault comes back within 12 months, bring it back and we’ll put it right. Board-level work, such as soldering repairs on the motherboard, carries 3 months, because those boards have often been through a knock or a spill already. The warranty covers our part and our workmanship. It doesn’t cover new drops, spills, or someone else opening the console after us.

The worn stick is replaced with a new standard one, then calibrated and tested.
We fit Hall-effect sticks, which read their position with magnets instead of contacts that rub and wear out, so they shouldn’t drift again.
The warranty covers the part we fitted and our workmanship. It doesn’t cover new accidental or liquid damage.
